WIGAN & DISTRICT TABLE TENNIS LEAGUE

MARATHON TABLE TENNIS SESSION
 SUNDAY 28TH JANUARY 2007
 IN AID OF
 THE MAYOR OF WIGAN’S CHARITY APPEAL

 

As many of you will be aware, as an Abram Ward Councillor, Mrs Eunice Smethurst has been a long-time member of the Management Committee of Platt Bridge Community Centre and has made a significant contribution towards its continuing success, to the benefit of all current user groups and the local community.

As the present Mayor of Wigan, Councillor Mrs Eunice Smethurst has suggested that Wigan & District Table Tennis League give consideration to supporting The Mayor of Wigan’s Charity Appeal. Eunice has chosen two charities for this year – Victim Support and DIAS (Drop In And Share – the domestic violence centre).        

After due consideration, the Executive Committee has decided to organise a sponsored marathon table tennis session at PBCC on Sunday 28 Jan 2006, and has concluded that: -

 

IF A JOB’S WORTH DOING, IT’S WORTH DOING PROPER(LY!).

With the objective of raising an absolute minimum of £500, EACH AND EVERY league player is encouraged to play their part by recruiting an extortionate number of sponsors and arriving at PBCC at their allotted start time in order to ensure continuous play from 9.00am to 7.00pm – for those who are required to ‘get out of bed’ at an unearthly hour for a Sunday morning, the above is a result of an impartial/unbiased (?) draw. (NB: the Exec Comm is open to (expensive) bribes in order to further enhance sponsorship funds!).
Players may bring along friends, families and relations and encourage them to ‘have a go’.
